Iowa Wesleyan University is accepting applications for an individual who is interested in providing college supervision to student teachers placed in the region.  This is a part-time contracted position with 8-week placement assignments.  We are currently looking for student teacher supervisors in the areas of Physical Education (K-8 and 5-12), Music Education (K-8 and 5-12), Science Education (5-12), and Special Education (Instructional Strategist I; K-8 and 5-12) however, we are interested in maintaining a pool of individuals that are qualified for other educational areas.

Student Teacher Supervisors receive training on their role and are expected to participate in the student teaching orientation and the final portfolio presentation.  This individual will be responsible to provide face-to-face supervision to student teachers at a minimum 4 times per placement, and to provide digital support on a weekly basis.

Qualifications for the position as Student Teaching Supervisor are:

  • A Master’s degree in education with training and recent experience (within 5 years) in the content area and grade level of supervision.
  • Successful candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing support of candidates as they work to become competent and ethical teachers.
