Alumni Decade Competition

Bragging rights are at stake in the Alumni Decade Competition. When you give a gift during the Retro Radiothon, that gift will apply to your decade. Will your decade have the highest total giving during the Radiothon? Challenge your classmates by becoming an IW fundraiser (details here). Any gift made during the Radiothon will be tallied by decade. Updates will be given throughout the weekend, and the winning decade will be announced at the conclusion of the Radiothon.

All events are located in the Ruble Arena, Howe Student Activity Center.

Celebrate with us as we kick off 40 hours of giving for Iowa Wesleyan with music, food, and fellowship.

7:00 PM: Official Launch of the Retro Radiothon

Midnight – 8:00am: Purple Pajama Party

IW students are invtied to pull an all-nighter with games, movies, and music.

8:00 AM – Yoga Challenge

Start the day healthy with a yoga and meditation class. Led by Kat Evans, ACE health coach, certified personal trainer & instructor at the MP Rec Center and Sara Titus RYT500, FYAA, LFYP and certified wellness coach. Yummy brunch to follow, donations accepted.

9:00 AMThe DP Challenge & Brunch

Dolores “DP” Graf Poulter Wilson represents 55 years of service as a faculty member to Iowa Wesleyan University. While we have named this challenge in honor of her as the longest serving faculty member, this challenge is to recognize all our dedicated faculty and staff. During this challenge donate in honor or memory of a faculty, staff member or friend at Iowa Wesleyan. Come to campus to make your gift in person and enjoy a brunch with current and former faculty.

The Corporate Partner Challenge

The strength of our region depends on the partnership between the University and our Corporate Partners to create a prepared work force and to supply jobs to stay in the region.  Our Corporate Partners allow us to keep the best at home.  We appreciate our businesses and their support of the University.

In collaboration with our Corporate Challenge, Jake McVey will perform a benefit concert at Noon in Ruble Arena of the Howe Student Activity Center. Free will donations will be accepted at the door for entry.

In addition, Midwest Old Threshers has donated two five day passes plus two backstage passes to the 2018 Old Threshers Reunion.  This drawing will take place during the concert and must be present to win.  Register at the door upon entry.

3:00 PMSee the World Challenge

Southeast Iowa is blessed to have students from around the world attend our University.  Currently there are students represented from 19 states across the U.S. and 29 countries world-wide.  Come see cultural performances by our students, hear about our travel abroad programs and taste candies from around the world. It will be an incredible learning experience for your family.

Our students, both home and abroad, provide an exceptional element of culture to our community. If you’d like to increase the opportunity for our students to see the world, please give during this challenge.

5:00 PMThe Tiger Games

Calling all athletes and those who love athletics.  This challenge is for you. Join NCAA Division III athletes for competitions, games and fun.  The Sweet Sixteen March Madness tournament will be on display as well. Food, fun and prizes await.

Our Goal is to raise $75,000 during this challenge through your support.

9:00 PMTiger Dance-a-Thon – Ruble Arena, Howe Student Activity Center

From 9 pm until Midnight, Iowa Wesleyan is hosting a Dance-a-Thon.  Come out and shake your groove thing or support your favorite dancer.  This Dance is open to High School Students, Iowa Wesleyan Students and those young at heart. A a minimum donation of $10 to participate is requested.
