How to prepare for your audition

Auditions may take place any time during the academic year or on specified scholarship audition days

Scholarships are renewed for up to four years contingent upon student participation and academic standing

    How to prepare:

    1. Learn two selections, of contrasting style, that show the capabilities of your voice or instrument.
The work need not necessarily be classical and not necessarily be memorized. A piece you are
preparing for contest or have presented at contest would be appropriate.
    2. If you are capable of performing in several areas (voice, piano, woodwinds, brass, percussion or
strings) plan to do so. The music faculty encourages versatility as well as skillful, musical
      performance.
    3. While we can provide an accompanist for you, you may be more comfortable with your own
accompanist. If you would like us to provide and accompanist, please note this on your application.
We need seven (7) working days to arrange for an accompanist in advance of your audition.

Please Note: In order for the IW Music Department to provide an accompanist for this scholarship audition, the Audition Application, and a set of clean photocopies of the audition music must be provided a minimum of 7 working days prior to the audition date.

Copies may be scanned and emailed to [email protected] or mailed to:
