Iowa Wesleyan University student, Marquis Johnson from Chicago, Illinois has teamed up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise money to help cure childhood cancer. This is part of a service-learning project shared by Marquis, Austin Anderson, Patrick Riherd , Darryl Smith, and Dr. Herb Schmidt. Several IW students and community members will be getting their heads shaved in support of children with cancer on Saturday, February 27 from 1-2 p.m. in the Social Hall near the Ruble Arena on the IW campus. There is still time to donate to help fund this project or sponsor a shavee if you’d like. Go to https://www.stbaldricks.org/events/IowaWesleyanUniversity.
To date, the Iowa Wesleyan team has raised $890, with a goal of $2,000. The Saturday event is open to the public.
