Admissions Information

The Office of Admissions evaluates each candidate for admission on an individual basis and admission decisions are made based on criteria set each year.

A first-year applicant is required to complete an application for admission, submit a transcript(s) from high school or a high school equivalency certificate based on the GED tests. Final official transcripts should be submitted to the University prior to the first day of classes.

Iowa Wesleyan is test-optional, which means that students will have the opportunity to decide whether they would like to include SAT or ACT exam scores in the evaluation of their admissions application. Please note while standardized test scores are not required for acceptance, they may be required for some scholarships at IW.

Students accepting their offer of admission to IW are asked to submit an enrollment deposit, $150 for Residential students and $100 for Commuter students. The enrollment deposit must be paid prior to course registration and is applied toward the first semester’s tuition. Students wishing for a refund of their enrollment deposit should submit a written request to the Office of Admissions by May 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester.

Iowa Wesleyan prides itself on being a four-year residential institution providing an environment where students can grow and discover themselves. Residence life is intended to create opportunities for students to develop deeper relationships that turn acquaintances into friends and family. Go to Campus Housing for more information.
