Dr. Peggy Whitson ’81, two time Commander of the International Space Station holds the record for most time in space. She also holds the record for most spacewalks conducted by a female astronaut. Whitson graduated from Iowa Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Peggy attributes her success to her mentor Dr. Delores Poulter Wilson ’63 and to her parents and upbringing for building a can do work ethic.
