Business Administration Major Concentration

Requirements for Business Administration Major with Concentrations:

  1. Complete the Business Division core curriculum requirements (55 semester hours), AND
  1. Complete six to eight courses (18 – 24 semester hours) in one of the following major concentration areas.

Business Management major concentration: Complete all of the following courses (21 hrs.):

ECN 240 Applied Statistics 3 hrs.
BA 311 Small Business Management 3 hrs.
BA 312 Organizational Behavior 3 hrs.
BA 322 Principles of Advertising 3 hrs.
BA 360 Human Resource Management 3 hrs.

Criminal Justice major concentration: Complete all of the following courses (21 hrs.)

CJ 231 Introduction to Criminal Justice 3 hrs.

CJ 307 Criminology 3 hrs.
CJ 355 Law Enforcement 3 hrs.
PSYC 131 General Psychology 3 hrs.

Human Services major concentration: Complete all of the following courses (21 hrs.)

Applied Sciences major concentration

(Open only to those students who have previously earned an Associate of Applied Science [A.A.S.] degree) Complete all of the following:

  1. Complete the Iowa Wesleyan University Wesleyan Studies General Education curriculum
  2. Complete the Iowa Wesleyan University Service Learning, Writing Intensive, and Field Experience requirement
  3. Complete the Iowa Wesleyan University Business Administration core requirements

Notes:

  1. Courses already completed for which there is an existing articulation agreement between Iowa Wesleyan University and the A.A.S.-granting institution will be applied toward this degree program
  2. A block of closely-related technical courses (e.g., Agribusiness, Machine Technology, etc.) will be substituted in lieu of major concentration course requirements.
  3. Note: A maximum of 60 credits may be transferred from the A.A.S.-granting institution.
  4. Final determination of the acceptability of technical courses will be made by the Iowa Wesleyan University Registrar in conjunction with the Business Division chair.
