Admissions Counselor

The Iowa Wesleyan University Office of Admissions has an immediate opening for the position of Admissions Counselor.  This full-time, 12-month position that includes the University’s benefit package.

An admissions counselor is a member of an energetic team dedicated to informing prospective students about the undergraduate experience at IW and selecting the students who make up each incoming class. Admissions Counselors communicate information about academics, student life, and the admissions process to prospective students, and responds to inquiries via phone and e-mail.   Admissions Counselors manages a specific territory and travels 4-6 weeks per year.

The ideal candidate will possess a team-orientated spirit and outstanding customer service skills along with the ability to work with a variety of constituents.  Additional responsibilities include presentations and handling other projects as assigned for the Office of Admissions.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, experience or interest in working with diverse populations, superior judgment and discretion, and a valid driver’s license.  The ability to travel and to work evening and weekend hours is necessary.
