Mount Pleasant, Iowa: March 25, 2019 – Iowa Wesleyan University and Danville Area Community College (DACC) located in Illinois are pleased to announce an articulation agreement. The 3 + 1 agreement allows students to complete three years of study at DACC. The DACC credits will transfer to Iowa Wesleyan’s online program for the fourth year of study, granting the student a bachelors in their chosen field.
“Iowa Wesleyan is pleased to launch this articulation agreement with Danville Area Community College (DACC) and we are very thankful to President Stephen Nacco and his vision for these types of joint educational partnerships,” said Dr. Steve Titus, president at IW. “Our faculty continually work with university administration to find creative ways that we can serve our region. We find synergy working alongside community colleges.”
The new articulation agreement will allow Iowa Wesleyan to help students who are primarily place bound to complete bachelor’s degrees in IW’s highly ranked and rigorous online programs without leaving their jobs or moving. Transfer credits are seamless as both DACC and IW are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
“We applaud Iowa Wesleyan University for reaching out across Illinois to partner with us in providing local and affordable bachelor’s degrees in Danville. For community college students, the 3 + 1 is a winning formula,” said Stephen Nacco, President of DACC. “Without leaving Vermilion County, students can earn their bachelor’s degree from a top university in high-demand programs like business administration, criminal justice, and human services. It’s a great gift to Illinois from our friends in Iowa.”
The articulation agreement will be signed April 1, 2019, from 2 pm – 3 pm via Skype in the Heising Room on Iowa Wesleyan’s campus. Iowa Wesleyan will broadcast the signing through Facebook Live at that time. For more information, visit iw.edu.
