Each campus residence facility provides each student room with basic cable TV and wireless Internet access. Each student is provided a bed, dresser, desk, chair and closet.
McKibbin Hall is a three-story traditional residence hall which houses up to 200 men. Residents enjoy a recreation room with pool table, a large outdoor patio and yard area. McKibbin’s first floor lounge is air-conditioned and equipped with lounge furniture and a large screen TV. The lower lounge is used for active kinds of recreation and includes a pool table, foosball table and ping pong table.
Nemitz Suites offers upper-class students apartment-style living right on campus. Each air-conditioned suite is fully furnished and offers each resident their own private bedroom. Each suite houses four students, has two bathrooms and features a kitchenette with a full-sized refrigerator and microwave.
Sheaffer-Trieschmann (S-T) Hall is a three-story traditional residence hall, housing approximately 240 residents. S-T features air-conditioned TV lounges on every floor which are perfect for studying or group meetings. The recreational lounge is equipped with a pool table, ping pong table, exercise equipment, vending machines and large screen TV. Another large lounge is equipped with large tables, a flat screen TV and kitchen.
Additional Residence Hall Information
Before checking into their residence hall, students must present written confirmation from a physician for one of the following:
1. Proof and date of having had measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) or
2. Documentation of 2 doses of immunization for MMR after 1980 or
3. Written notice from a doctor that you should not receive MMR immunization at this time.
Students unable to comply with one of the above must be re-immunized at the student’s expense. Additionally, students residing in campus housing must have completed a Mantoux skin test for tuberculosis within a year prior to their arrival on campus and must provide verification of any follow-up treatment if necessary.
Each resident is assigned a mailbox. U.S. mail, official college notices and inter-campus mail is delivered Monday through Friday.
Iowa Wesleyan University accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged belongings. Students should obtain property insurance. Check your homeowner’s policy to see if you need additional coverage.
Alcohol is not permitted in the residence halls or anywhere on campus.
Iowa Wesleyan University is a Smoke-Free campus. Smoking is not allowed in any of the residence halls or anywhere else on campus.
Air-conditioned rooms are limited. A physician-documented medical need must be presented with request for an air conditioned room, however, the availability of an air conditioner is not guaranteed. Air-conditioned rooms cost an additional $100 per occupant, per semester. Due to fire safety and electrical loads, you may not bring and install your own air conditioner.
